The BMW F850 GS Adventure, as its name suggests, is the adventurous version of the F850 GS, from which it takes the base to add some elements that make it more suitable for long trips. After being completely renovated in 2019, in 2021 it receives some improvements again.
The Adventure shares an engine with the F850 GS, so we are talking about an in-line two-cylinder that yields 95 hp at 8,250 rpm and a torque figure of 92 Nm at 6,250 rpm, being able to move the motorcycle up to almost 200 km / h. h. It is available in a version limited to 35 kW for users of the A-2 license, as well as a version to run on low-octane gasoline (RON 91) with 90 hp. The clutch is slippery and optionally the Shift Assistant can be incorporated, to use the change without clutch. You can check the

As standard, it has two driving modes, Rain and Road, as well as ABS braking and dynamic traction control with cornering functionality and which is one of the great innovations in 2021. Automatic to guarantee greater control. Optionally, Pro Modes can be added, which include Dynamic, Enduro and Enduro Pro, all of which affect the operation of the rest of the electronic aids, including the Dynamic ESA electronic suspensions, which are also optional on the F850 GS Adventure. In this way, through the buttons and the controller located on the left handlebar, it is possible to go from a road configuration to an off-road one in an immediate and intuitive way.
The F850 GS Adventure has been designed for adventure, hence the monocoque chassis, which integrates the engine as a supporting element, offers great resistance and high torsional capacity - greater than that of the previous tubular. In addition, it allows the tank to be placed in a more conventional position, between the handlebar and the seat, and not under it as before.
The fork used is an inverted fork with 43mm bars with 230mm travel, while the rear shock, with 215mm travel, is anchored directly to the swingarm and can be adjusted for preload and rebound. Optionally, the Dynamic ESA electronic control can be added, which acts on the shock absorber and in conjunction with the rest of the electronics.
For more intensive off-road use, the F850 GS Adventure has a 21 "front wheel and a 17" rear wheel with mixed tires and spoke rims. The two front discs are 305 mm, have a floating double-piston caliper, while at the rear, the disc measures 265 mm. It includes a dynamic brake light that sends signals to the vehicle behind when emergency braking is performed.
The F850 GS Adventure features an LED daytime running light headlight, a technology that can be optionally added to the rest of the lights. Connectivity is another of the strengths of the new Adventure, and it is possible to replace the standard instrumentation - analog tachometer and multifunctional display - with a large, full-color TFT screen that is operated via the left hand wheel. This screen connects via Bluetooth with the helmet and the smartphone in a simple way, and it can even have a browser thanks to the BMW Motorrad Connected app.
Other available options are E-Call, for emergency care, and the smart key.
The screen is height adjustable in two positions and together with the two side panels they make the wind less noticeable on road trips. The fuel tank has a capacity of 23 liters.
