Jeep electric vehicles will carry the new “Jeep 4xe” badge, all Jeep models will offer electrification options by 2022.
Electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles and connectivity are among the hot topics in the automotive industry. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), through its Jeep brand will present within the framework of the Consumer Electronics Show 2020 (CES 2020, to be held from January 7 to 10 in Las Vegas) to present three plug-in hybrid electric vehicles: Wrangler, Renegade and Compass 4XE. This is the first step in the brand's plan to offer electrification options on all models by 2022. All Jeep electrified vehicles will carry a new “Jeep 4xe Badge”.
Electrification, including the next Jeep 4xe vehicles without compromise, will modernize the Jeep brand as it strives to become the leader in premium green “green” technology. Jeep electric vehicles will be the most efficient and responsible Jeep vehicles ever, providing absolute freedom and quiet outdoors while taking performance, 4 × 4 capacity and driver confidence to the next level. With greater torque and an immediate engine response, Jeep electric vehicles will offer an even more fun driving experience on the road and more capacity than ever off the road.
Additional information will be provided on Jeep Wrangler, Compass and Renegade 4xe vehicles, which will debut this year, at the Geneva, New York and Beijing car shows.
JEEP EXPERIENCE 4X4 ADVENTURE VR
Jeep has demonstrated 4 × 4 leadership capacity for almost 80 years. The fusion of electrification in the product line is a natural evolution. CES attendees will have a unique opportunity to see the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, the Jeep Compass 4xe and the Jeep Renegade 4xe. All three vehicles are part of FCA's commitment to globally launch more than 30 electrified nameplates by 2022.
Attendees who wish to experience a simulated 4 × 4 trip can take a ride on the new Jeep 4 × 4 Adventure VR experience. Using Moab, Utah, one of the most popular off-road destinations for Jeepers, as a backdrop, participants will navigate the infamous Hell’s Revenge trail. The route is divided into different sections, from intermediate to difficult. As an additional advantage, among the virtual assets within the software is the driver's point of view within the new Jeep Wrangler 4xe, which offers participants a preview of the most advanced Jeep Wrangler that the company has built. But
led headlights for Jeep Wrangler are not the default configuration yet.
To create the virtual experience, a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is placed in four hydraulic cylinders, one on each wheel. The Wrangler reacts to the input provided by the actual wheel position data records made on the road. The hydraulic system pushes the engineering suspension of the Wrangler, replicating the movement a driver would experience when crossing an obstacle or climbing a hill. Inside the vehicle, participants wearing virtual reality glasses will see the real landscape correlated with the trail of hell's revenge. Each time a participating team completes a part of the route, the achievement is recorded with the team's score and a virtual route qualification badge that can be seen live through the “Jeep Adventure” application. Users can track their team's score and compare it with others who have participated in the Jeep 4 × 4 Adventure VR experience.
USER EXPERIENCE
UX has experienced significant growth and innovation within the automotive industry. Within the FCA cabin space, six double-sided screens show the award-winning Uconnect system. Uconnect is a powerful base on which to build. What once was only about the radio is becoming less limited to the vehicle itself, more useful, rich in content and personalized. Designed for each brand and vehicle, the system is becoming an important reason for the purchase。
