The New Jeep Gladiator Has Released its Online Configurator

The new pick-up variant of the Jeep Wrangler, the new Jeep Gladiator, already appears on the official website of the brand in the United States, where it also has its online configuration tool. This allows us to dive among the different options and possibilities of the new pick-up.

Just a few days ago, the new pick-up variant of the 2020 Wrangler range was presented, the long-awaited Jeep Gladiator, which was officially unveiled on the occasion of the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, at the same event that just a year earlier had The new JL generation of the Jeep Wrangler has been presented. Now we can find the new Gladiator on the brand's website, in addition to the new model configuration tool.

This new pick-up variant is based on the Unlimited bodywork of the Wrangler, although it has a slightly longer wheelbase than the conventional off-road. This version Jeep Gladiator uses same Jeep Wrangler led headlights so that they can share same aftermarket accessories. For the rest, except for the new open rear cradle and the denomination, this variant shares the full technical approach with the rest of the Wrangler range.



In fact, unsurprisingly, the approach and structure of the new Jeep Gladiator range are very similar to those of the standard Wrangler range. Saving some details, both ranges share all the elements and accessories.

The range of the new Jeep Gladiator consists of a single body option, open convertible, although it has different roof options, because in addition to the soft top we find two options of rigid panels, also separated into three elements, such as the Wrangler range . Saving the roof options we do not find more body options, not even the rear cradle, as it is only available in one measure.

It is in the equipment levels where we will find the first novelties, since the new Gladiator has 4 levels of finishes, instead of the 3 in which the offer of the Wrangler range is divided: Sport, Sport S, Overland and Rubicon . For some unknown reason, in the United States the Sahara level of the Wrangler is renamed Overland, a name that is only used on Wranglers outside of North America, in units destined for export markets.

At the mechanical level, for the moment we are only going to find one engine available, the well-known 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar gasoline, which delivers 289 CV (285 hp) and 352 Nm of maximum torque and which is available with two transmission options, manual 6 speeds or 8-speed automatic. A new 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 will be added later with 264 PS (260 hp) and 599 Nm of maximum torque, although there are no plans to include any of the 4-cylinder engines that are available in the Wrangler range.
