The oil filter on a Jeep Cherokee or any vehicle should be changed every time the oil is changed, according to the manufacturer's recommendations. The process can be made easier if the car is safely raised on the jacks. The oil should be drained and the oil filter and its gasket removed with an oil filter wrench. The old filter screws processed and the new screws One. Replace the oil cap and fill the vehicle with oil. things you will need

Jeep Cherokee xj led headlights if you have upgraded, the lighting system is very important for us to drive on road.
Run the Jeep Cherokee's engine and let it cool until the engine is warm, not hot. Make sure the vehicle is in park and the parking brake is on. If there isn't enough slack to get into the truck, raise the front end with a jack, and place it in place under each side. Chock the rear wheels to be safe.
Before going under the Jeep, open the oil cap on top of the engine, which will allow the oil to drain faster.
Put an empty container under the oil pan and plug, which is located at the bottom of the engine. Using the spark plug wrench, carefully unscrew the oil cap. The oil may initially gush out of the pan. Let it drain into the container, which should be at least five quarts.
While the oil is draining, look for the old oil filter, which is also on the engine. It is located near the front, near the steering gear. It looks like a fat soda can and is usually white.
Use the oil filter wrench---usually equipped with a band that can be placed around the oil filter and squeezed---to unscrew the filter counterclockwise. Locating the band as close to the top of the filter as possible will make the job easier if it is tight.
When the filter is deactivated, check that the old gasket is also removed. Put the new filter with the gasket in place and screw in clockwise. Don't screw too hard. Read the filter manufacturer's instructions.
Replace the oil pan plug, and again don't screw it in too tightly. Fill the vehicle with oil according to the manufacturer's specifications, and check below for leaks. Dispose of the oil and filter in accordance with environmental regulations.
