Jeep Wrangler 2018: The Best Images of the New 2-door Version

These are the best spy photos to date of the new Jeep Wrangler JL 2-door, taken during its final testing phase. The new generation of the iconic off-road vehicle will be presented next November in the United States.

The new JL generation of the Jeep Wrangler is nearing completion. According to the latest statements by Sergio Marchionne himself, it will be presented before the end of the year, during the month of November. In the last year we have been able to analyze not a few spy photos of this new generation, but in the vast majority of times the test units corresponded to the Unlimited 4-door version, in addition to the new pick-up version, also 4 doors, and on very few occasions we have seen the classic short wheelbase 2-door variant.
 
These are therefore the best images we have been able to obtain of the 2-door version of the iconic Jeep off-road vehicle, since the previous ones had been taken from a distance and of two parked units, 9 inch Jeep JL Headlights have been equipped on, so we had not been able to see them from all angles , like this time.

The prototype sighted has the same type of camouflage as the examples seen above, but it leaves the soft top bare, making this the softtop variant of the Wrangler. The bodywork is lined with vinyl and in the most critical areas, such as the front, we find the usual black canvas, so that in this example we cannot appreciate the new features of the model.

Although the image of the 2018 Wrangler is practically identical to that of its predecessors, the truth is that this new generation will be a considerable technological update, since from the frame to the list of possible equipment available they will be extensively renewed.

The model will feature items of equipment never seen before, such as the rear view camera, in addition to having the latest advances in connectivity and information and entertainment. The new frame will be lighter and the mechanical range will feature a renewed mechanical range. However, the Wrangler will remain true to its original concept, and not just on an aesthetic level, as it will feature removable doors and a frame setup that will offer robust off-road capabilities.

At the aesthetic level we will find the classic silhouette of the Wrangler, but the details will be conveniently polished, including a slight redesign of the grille, LED-type optics -at least in the higher versions- and new bumpers. It will be presented in November, but it will not reach US dealers until the beginning of 2018, so we will have to wait a few more months to see this new generation in Europe.
