Jeep has launched a new teaser video for the new Wrangler 4xe, the future plug-in hybrid variant of the famous off-roader. Although the reality is that the predominant purpose for the video is no longer to announce the arrival of this new electrified version, which used to be introduced various months ago, however to attempt to subtract media interest from Ford all through the launch of the new Bronco 2021 range.

Not even 24 hours ago the new 2021 Ford Bronco was officially unveiled and we have already come across two Jeep posts aimed at subtracting some media prominence from Ford's new off-road vehicle. Have you bought Jeep Wrangler led headlights for offroad use? Although in the case of this last video we can speak openly of a full-fledged trolling, since not only are we facing a totally unnecessary ad that does not reveal anything, but it also has some symbols and a message clearly intended for what will be its main rival in the US market.

The video is short and shows how a new Jeep Wrangler 4xe goes through an idyllic natural setting, which it does in complete silence thanks to its ability to drive in pure electric mode. However, the main character of this video is not the Jeep model, but rather a herd of wild horses that do not see their rest altered thanks to the fact that the vehicle is able to roll without making noise.

The symbolism of the video is quite clear, as horses that have not been tamed are called broncos in the United States, while Wrangler is the expression used to refer to the cowboy in charge of guarding and caring for the horses. So this is a message clearly aimed at pointing out that, in a certain way and thanks to this new plug-in hybrid variant, the Wrangler range is at an advantage. Another very clear and direct message is the final slogan: "There is only one Jeep."

This plug-in hybrid variant was presented last January, during the Consumer Electronics Show 2020 in Las Vegas, so the only reason the brand has had to launch this teaser video today is none other than to troll its rival. To which is added the surprising and recent presentation of the new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept, which seems to advance a future 8-cylinder version of the Jeep off-road.

The future Jeep Wrangler 4xe was unveiled months ago, but the specifications of this plug-in hybrid variant have not been confirmed so far. The only thing we know is that it will have the same mechanical scheme of the Chrysler Pacifica PHEV, which uses the 3.6-liter V6 associated with an electric motor and that will allow the off-road vehicle a range in electric mode of 50 kilometers. In principle, the model was going to be presented in spring, but like the rest of the presentations it has had to be delayed due to the health crisis caused by the coronavirus.
